Job Description:
This is a new position for NY CREATES, a member corporation whose members are The Research Foundation for the State University of New York (the "Research Foundation") and SUNY Polytechnic Institution Foundation, Inc. NY CREATES seeks to advance high-tech research, development and commercialization opportunities through the acquisition, construction and management of state-of-the-art facilities and programs, while promoting economic development, education and workforce training throughout New York. NY CREATES is the sole member of Fuller Road Management Corporation ("FRMC") (a 501c25 not-for-profit corporation) and Fort Schuyler Management Corporation ("FSMC") (a 501c3 not-for-profit corporation).
This position is responsible for:
Financial reporting and analysis including assistance in the production of quarterly financial statements and internal reports for budget performance
Assistance with the financial audit processes, including engagement of external audit firm and preparation of audited financial statements and footnotes
Preparing work papers for the annual audit
Assistance with the preparation of annual federal and state tax filings and supporting documentation
Monitoring cash daily; special projects; other reasonable duties as assigned
Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess knowledge and experience in GAAP financial accounting standards, not-for-profit financial accounting regulations, corporate financial accounting methodologies and requirements, corporate budget development, budget performance monitoring and reporting, IRS and NYS tax filing requirements, financial audit and statement preparation, and cash management/banking.
B.S. degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field from a College or University accredited by the USDOE or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
5 years of financial accounting experience with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.
The ability to collaborate within a cross-functional team of corporate and program financial management professionals in a complex business environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
CPA certification or Master's degree from a College or University accredited by the USDOE or internationally recognized accrediting organization in Business Administration.
5 years of not-for-profit corporate accounting experience.
