LOCATION: Grand Forks, ND, Fargo, ND or Remote
TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: This is a full-time, 12-month, benefited position in the 3000 broadband, exempt from FLSA (not overtime eligible).

SALARY: $60,000+ minimum annual salary dependent on experience and level of preparation

JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Assistant Director of Enterprise Services, the Application Systems Analyst is part of the Enterprise Services Applications team tasked with delivering enterprise level applications for the University system and its constituents. This position is responsible for collecting, analyzing, evaluating needs of the North Dakota University System and its institutions, and advanced solutions in any relevant application software that may best suit the specifications. The Application Analyst provides system-level support of multi-user operating systems and software applications, including design, installation, configuration, maintenance, and integration of these systems. Identify alternatives for optimizing computer resources. In addition, the analyst should continuously strive to improve the work of both themselves and the team in order to supply the highest quality work.
Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination education plus work experience in a technical field. • 2+ years of application administration experience or 3+ years of help desk experience. • Working knowledge of relational databases and client-server concepts. • Previous experience using MS Windows and Linux operating systems to include configuration and connectivity. • Previous experience writing technical instructions in the use of programs and/or program modifications and to communicate technical guidance and instruction to users. • Excellent problem solving skills • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills • Ability to think creatively, quickly learns new technologies and languages, and adapt to changes. • Experience with PowerShell and/or Linux shell scripting • Experience with SQL query writing
Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with enterprise level multi-tiered deployment environments (Dev, Test, Stage, Production) • Familiarity with three-tier development (web, application, database servers), server configuration and networking fundamentals • Experience developing using PowerShell, ColdFusion, Python, PHP, HTML, and CSS • Ability to determine the nature of computer hardware and systems software problems, and to communicate technical guidance and information to users. • Ability to write technical instructions in the use of programs and/or program modifications • Experience working in a higher education setting • Experience working with the North Dakota University System
