Minnkota Power is seeking qualified candidates for a Network & System Administrator in the Information Technology Department at the Milton R. Young Station located near Center, ND. The Milton R. Young Station is a two-unit coal-fired power plant, providing a stable energy source for our cooperative member-owners. The station is located 35 miles from Bismarck, North Dakota, a growing and progressive city with many recreational opportunities.

The position has the following responsibilities: • Manages and maintains the enterprise network and systems infrastructure. • Provides support to systems including day-to-day activities to ensure 24x7 availability. • Monitors and provides support and resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices. • Provides detailed information for hardware/software enhancements for performance and reliability. • Assists with the rotation schedule of assets. • Designs, documents, and implements systems, network configurations, and network architecture, including software technology, site locations and integrations of technologies. • Analyzes, monitors, and ensures network physical and cyber security. • Implements change management procedures. • Patches and maintains assets. • Assists end users by providing ongoing support and technical assistance. • Provides timely response to all Level II support tickets and queries from end users. • Collaborates with technical support as an escalation point for support tickets. • Works with vendors to report bugs and monitor support requests through to resolution. Position requires a 4-year degree in computer science, information systems or other related area or a 2-year degree with network administration experience, system administration experience, knowledge of real-time systems, and experience with various operating systems.
