IDM/Middleware DevOps & Application Support Engineer (#01029)

Information Technology Services (ITS) at Old Dominion University is seeking a full-time employee to provide technical support for middleware, security, accounts, and IDM systems. This employee will serve as DevOps support for Middleware/IDM systems providing repeatable programmatic deployments and enhanced monitoring capabilities. Also, this position serves as a backup Account Manager to process account requests and issues.

Required qualifications include:

• Working knowledge of several programing and scripting tools such as Java, Python, Bash, SQL, JSON, and XML.
• Working knowledge of application environments such as Tomcat, Apache, Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS Services.
• Working knowledge of Account Practices.
• Working knowledge of Unix and Windows environments.
• Working knowledge of data security tools, practices, and techniques.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage time and set priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to independently apply technical judgment and skills to determine solutions.

Preferred qualifications include:

• B.S. or B.A. in Computer Science or MIS, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Some experience with application support and account management.
