Senior Software Architect
Senior Software Architect, IBM Corporation, Austin, TX (Up to 20% telecommuting permitted): Design, develop and deploy cloud security services. Automate wide ranges of tasks. Interface with other teams, offering managers, and customers to solve complex problems. Create world-class development and deployment environments, delivering an industry leading user experience for our customers. Contribute to the cloud services architecture and design and mentor the next generation of cloud engineers. Contribute to designs and implementation efforts of the ecosystem. Develop highly-available, distributed cloud services, with emphasis on security, scalability and user experience. Read open specifications and RFC documents and convert them to design docs and implementation. Identify opportunities and act on improving existing tools, frameworks and DevSecOps workflows. Document and share experience with team members and mentor others. Document and articulate clear understanding of customer/partner success criteria. Define, lead, and execute architecture design workshops and whiteboarding sessions to build implementation plans. Consult as a subject matter experts on company technology and services portfolio. Author use cases, reference architectures, blog posts, and other field and external content. Utilize: Cloud native development (Kubernetes, Istio), Cyber Security, Databases (Cloudant, Oracle, Graph Databases), Design patterns, Microservices, IBM Cloud, Programming languages and Frameworks (Node.js, Java, GoLang). Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related and two (2) years of experience as a Senior Software Developer or related. Two (2) years of experience must include utilizing Cloud native development (Kubernetes, Istio), Cyber Security, Databases (Cloudant, Oracle, Graph Databases), Design patterns, Microservices, IBM Cloud, Programming languages and Frameworks (Node.js, Java, GoLang).
