Position Title: Plant Engineer (LOS) OPEN UNTIL FILLED

Position Purpose: This position manages, plans, organizes and directs the plant technical engineering functions for the Leland Olds Station (LOS).

Qualifications: To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent must have a broad knowledge of engineering techniques and theory and technical knowledge of coal-based plant operations, systems, and equipment at a level acquired through completion of a four-year degree from an Engineer Accreditation Commission/Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (EAC/ABET) accredited engineering program and 10 years of engineering experience, five of which are coal-based power plant experience. Prior experience acting as a lead, in a step-up position, or previous supervisory experience is required. The incumbent must be proficient with personal computers and Microsoft Word and Outlook, and must be able to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills. The incumbent must have a valid driver’s license.

Typical Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands: This position requires frequent sitting; and occasional standing/walking, climbing, use of keyboard/computer and crawling, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds, and lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds. Frequent working conditions include dirt/dust, chemicals, fumes, extreme heat/cold, vibration, and noise; and occasionally poor ventilation, confined spaces, and electrical risks. This position must be respirator qualified and able to operate a motor vehicle. The incumbent will occasionally be required to work at heights up to 350 feet. This position also requires good color vision, finger dexterity, ability to perform close work, and good hearing. The incumbent uses engineering tools and instruments. The incumbent must be able to analyze data/reports, conduct research, implement recommendations, develop plans, procedures, and goals, and present information to others.
